High-density aerospace exhibitions and outdoor broadcast environments present unique connectivity challenges. With tens of thousands of attendees competing for local mobile mast bandwidth, media teams, event organisers, and exhibitors require guaranteed, mission-critical internet that works anywhere on site.
At this year’s Farnborough International Airshow, Baltic Broadcast is live on location demonstrating our full suite of Portable Connectivity Products—showing webcasters, production crews, and enterprise teams how to achieve ultra-reliable, high-speed internet in the most challenging outdoor environments.
Product Spotlight: The Baltic Backpack
At the center of our mobile fleet is the Baltic Backpack—a lightweight, weather-resistant, bonded cellular access point engineered for zero-downtime performance. Featuring a 30-second boot-to-live time and an 8-hour onboard battery, the backpack gives mobile crews instantaneous enterprise connectivity straight out of the bag. The Baltic Backpack utilises 4 x CAT6 cellular modems connecting simultaneously across all major UK networks (EE, Vodafone, O2, and Three) and operates in two distinct modes:- High Availability Link (HAL): Sends simultaneous duplicate data streams across all four mobile networks. If any single network degrades or drops out due to crowd congestion, the remaining links carry the data without losing a single frame. Ideal for live TV link-ups, 4K video streaming, and latency-sensitive Zoom calls.
- Bonded for Speed (BFS): Combines multiple cellular connections into a single high-capacity data pipe capable of speeds up to 300Mbps download and 100Mbps upload. Engineered for rapid file uploads, film rushes, and high-density guest WiFi.
The Full Portable Connectivity Fleet
Whether you are broadcasting a breakfast radio show from a pop-up chalet, operating a remote flight-line camera, or managing multi-venue exhibition booths, Baltic Broadcast provides scalable deployment options:- Baltic Backpack: Ergonomic, battery-powered 4G/5G mobile unit for roaming camera operators and field teams.
- Baltic Roving & Rolling Racks: Heavy-duty, flight-cased mobile rack units built for outside broadcast trucks, production hubs, and temporary pop-up offices.
- Baltic Roof Rack: Vehicle-mounted high-gain antenna system for mobile command units and drive-by coverage.
- Satellite Contribution Integration: Add high-capacity satellite backhaul (200Mbps down / 100Mbps up) into any contribution feed for ultimate hybrid resilience.
Enterprise Broadcast Features as Standard
Unlike standard consumer 4G dongles that suffer from network shaping, carrier-grade NAT, and data caps, Baltic Broadcast operates directly over core Radio Access Networks (RAN) with enterprise-grade features:- Zero Contention & Unlimited Data: Uncapped data volumes with guaranteed synchronous (1:1) upload and download performance.
- Public IPv4 Allocations: Available with direct public IP addresses (/29, /28, or /27 subnets) for inbound port forwarding and hardware encoders.
- Flat Layer 2 Private Links: Create virtual network cables between geographically separated backpacks or venue booths to run private talkback channels, lighting rigs, or NDI video feeds.
- 24/7 Dedicated NOC Support: Backed by proactive monitoring and a 6-hour guaranteed fix Service Level Agreement (SLA) from our Liverpool operations center.
Dry Hire & On-Site Engineering Options
All Baltic Broadcast portable products are available for 24-hour, weekly, or monthly hire on a plug-and-play “dry-hire” basis.
