It’s a wrap : Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2025!

We’ve just completed another huge production delivered by the Baltic Broadband team over the May bank holiday weekend, that provided for over 100,000 people.

BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend three day festival took over Liverpool’s Sefton Park with a star-studded line-up that included Ed Sheeran, Sugababes, Natasha Bedingfield, HAIM, Sam Fender, Tate McRae, Mumford & Sons, JADE, Tom Grennan, Confidence Man, Lola Young, AJ Tracey plus many more.

Baltic Broadband delivered multiple high speed 10Gbps ultra-resilient internet feeds into the festival using our hugely popular dual wireless and fibre product, Baltic Bulletproof.

Our digital connectivity carried live broadcasts for BBC Television, BBC IPlayer, BBC Radio One and 4 stages, event management control, police, fire, council, backend production services, WiFi, CCTV and many more applications at this large 3-day event.

Our team also worked with the BBC’s R&D department to enable on a world first application Radio 1 Dance Stage live: The Portal that required both high speed and low latency bandwidth to deliver a new, virtual rave live immersive experience.

So after Eurovision, Taylor Swift and BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend in recent years now in the bag, I wonder what’s next for the Baltic Broadband team?
