How do you get a high speed internet leased line when you are floating on water?

One call.  Baltic Broadband.

We enjoyed signing off our teams work on another new customer installation this week.  Working with Global Ports Holdings for their new port, we designed a custom wireless solution for a floating pontoon.

Designed to rise and fall with the tides of the River Mersey, our wireless solution provides fast, reliable and low latency internet for Liverpool Cruise Port.

Complete with a high speed WiFi and a new core network, our engineered solution is supported and monitored around the clock and includes multiple paths in and out using a range of wireless technologies for superb stability.

The River Mersey experiences a significant tidal range, with spring tides reaching up to 10 meters (32.8 ft) and neap tides around 4 meters (13.1 ft), making it the second-highest tidal range in Britain, after the Severn.

Centrally located in Liverpool, the Liverpool Cruise Port boasts a rich cultural heritage and maritime history. It offers cruise passengers a wealth of attractions, from the Beatles’ legacy to world-class museums and vibrant arts scenes.

The port’s historic significance as the birthplace of the first passenger cruise line adds to its appeal. It offers significant opportunities for tourists to engage in the arts, music, architecture, and its historic football teams.

Situated in the Irish Sea, Liverpool Cruise Port is a key maritime gateway in the UK. This location provides excellent connectivity to Northern European and British and Irish cruise itineraries, making it an ideal port for both transit and turnaround calls. With easy access to Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Manchester Airport, both within an hour’s drive, the port offers seamless connections for cruise passengers.
